Overview
Cedar Shakes and Shingles was asked to provide a complete house renewal to a longtime customer. The goal was to maintain the houses historical look and feel but update it with maintenance free material and design a new patio entertainment area. All of the existing house siding and wood shutters were removed. An inspection of the windows at this point relived extensive water damage to the woof trim and wood framing. We developed a plan to repair the existing framing for new support and at the same time blend new composite repair trim milled on site to match the existing window trim design. After the windows were completed, new house wrap and new pre-painted James Hardie siding was installed over the entire house with all new composite trim boards.
A dated screen porch was completed gutted so a new design and look could complement the pool area. New composite porch flooring was installed along with a completely new design on both the support posts and the screen framing to give a more modern look. A standing seam metal open porch roof was constructed to give the outdoor entertainment area an open but protected effect. The existing brick paver floor was also completely removed and a new stone paver patio was laid down to complement the screen porch along with a new stair system.
