Overview
Cedar Shakes and Shingles began working with a customer to work out a project budget on upgrading the exterior of their house and also to see if it was possible to add an all-season room addition. The existing asphalt roof had about half of its life left so it was decided to focus on upgrading the house’s windows and siding. With new windows and new composite siding it was an excellent time to remodel the front entrance. Drawings showed that by adding a front entrance roof and extending the front landing the inside foyer greeting area could be expanded and also with a larger exterior entrance area at the front door, the house had a upgraded appeal. A rear existing deck was removed and an all-season room was added. We were able to remove two interior walls at the kitchen and dining area to create an open floor plan that flowed directly into the new addition. Skylights were added in the kitchen area to increase the natural light. The final steps taken were to install all new hardwood flooring and repaint the interior. The final look both inside and out gave a fresh new look to the house.
